Cape Conservation Group is a community based non profit organisation, whose charter is:
““To protect and preserve the North West Cape – now and for future generations.“
Cape Conservation Group consists of a proactive and motivated membership that engages in a broad range of conservation based projects. Members comprise a diverse spectrum of skills, professions, experiences and age groups. United by our passion for the natural environment of the North West Cape, we have become a dynamic and effective force – ready to take on new challenges!
No experience is necessary – everyone has something to offer.
- Len Howard Community Group Conservation Award, 2009 (in recognition of an outstanding commitment and dedication to promoting environmental awareness and protecting Western Australia’s natural heritage: Conservation Council of Western Australia).
- National Landcare Award, 2005 – Community Coastcare, Conservation and Land Management Coastal and Marine Award (for the Ningaloo Turtle Program, in recognition of community groups who have invested valuable resources into preserving the environment for future generations: Commonwealth Government of Australia)
- State Coastwest Award, 2003 – Outstanding Monitoring and Identification Coastal Project (for the Ningaloo Turtle Program: Department of Planning and Infrastructure)
